Brian Peters Traditional Songs and Music from England
Rocky Mountain Ploughboys
Sadly no longer working, but fondly remembered by all who witnessed their eclectic, not to say anarchic performances, the Ploughboys were Bonz Barnes, Dave Pope, Brian Peters and Graham Buckley.  Arising from the ashes of the notorious Mossley Dukes, the Ploughboys’ repertoire ran from bluegrass to blues and Emmy Lou to Chuck Berry, with fiddles, banjos, dobros and accordions providing exciting and proudly non-authentic arrangements.  Who knows, maybe the phoenix will arise squawking disrespectfully from the embers, one sweet sunny day…
Although not the band’s main singer, Brian was occasionally allowed to stand within hollering distance of the mike, and explore songs not strictly within the traditional English folk canon.  Dusty Springfield, anyone?
